The lane-change tap on a Ford F-150 is a flash count stored in the Steering Column Control Module (SCCM) at address 724-01-01. FORScan writes that as-built value over an OBD-II adapter. The change only affects how many times the lamp blinks after a quick tap of the stalk. Holding the stalk for a full turn still runs until you cancel it. It does not change the bulb, the stalk switch, or the wiring.
F-Config lists two rows because 2015–2020 and 2021+ trucks do not share a formula, even though the module and the address look the same. Using the wrong table writes a value the other generation does not mean.
On a 2015–2020 truck the nibble is an enum. The worksheet notes map 0 to 1 flash, 4 to 2, 6 to 3, 8 to 4, A to 5, C to 6, and E to 7. A trailer can add two flashes on top of the number you pick. Copy the original SCCM value into the worksheet blank before you write.
On a 2021 or newer truck the same address uses a different byte. The catalog calls the field LaneChange_Cancel_Blink_Num. Each extra flash is 04 in hex added to the value already in that byte. Do not paste the 2015–2020 enum into a 2021+ truck. The pages are separate so the wrong table is harder to apply.
Both rows are rated lower risk and fully reversible, as long as the original value is saved first. Confirm the truck year before you choose a row.
