Question 1

What is FORScan?

Accepted Answer

FORScan is a third-party diagnostic software tool used by vehicle owners to read module data and, where supported, edit certain supported vehicle configuration values. F-Config does not sell FORScan software, licenses, or official manufacturer data.

Question 2

What is F-Config?

Accepted Answer

F-Config is an independent DIY worksheet product for F-150 owners using their own FORScan setup. It helps organize selected worksheet rows, compatibility notes, risk labels, backups, and printable steps for customer-led use.

Question 3

Is FORScan programming safe?

Accepted Answer

FORScan changes can affect vehicle behavior, module communication, warranty questions, inspections, and legal compliance. F-Config provides risk-labeled DIY worksheet guidance, but results can vary by vehicle, module, software version, tools, and user decisions. Always back up original values and stop if anything does not match.

Question 4

Will this void my warranty?

Accepted Answer

Warranty outcomes depend on your vehicle, warranty provider, and the change being made. F-Config is a DIY worksheet product, so review the risk notes, keep your original values, and talk with the relevant warranty provider if coverage is a concern.

Question 5

Can modifications be reversed?

Accepted Answer

Reversibility can vary by module, software version, vehicle configuration, and the exact change made. Always save complete original module data and write down original values before changing anything so you have the best available rollback path.

Question 6

How long does the process take?

Accepted Answer

Most individual worksheet changes are planned around 5-15 minutes each once your laptop, adapter, FORScan license, and backups are ready. Complex or high-risk changes deserve a slower review before you write any values.

Question 7

Do I need to bring anything?

Accepted Answer

For DIY, you need a Windows laptop or tablet, a compatible OBD-II adapter, FORScan software, and an extended license. We provide setup guidance and a spreadsheet-ready workflow.

Question 8

What if something goes wrong?

Accepted Answer

Always back up your original module values before applying changes. If an issue occurs, you can usually revert to your saved values. If you get stuck, contact support and we'll help troubleshoot your configuration.

Question 9

What years of F-150 are supported?

Accepted Answer

The worksheet builder includes F-150 model years from 2015 through 2026. Some worksheet rows are specific to certain years or configurations. The builder filters options using the details you enter, but compatibility can still vary by package, module revision, region, software version, and prior vehicle changes.

Question 10

What equipment do I need for DIY modifications?

Accepted Answer

For DIY modifications, you'll need: (1) A Windows laptop or tablet, (2) An OBD-II adapter compatible with FORScan (we recommend the OBDLink EX or MX+), (3) FORScan software (free download), and (4) A FORScan extended license (free, requires registration). We provide detailed step-by-step guides for each DIY modification.

Question 11

Can I do this myself?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The platform is built for DIY. Modifications marked "DIY Available" include step-by-step instructions and spreadsheet-ready values. For advanced or high-risk mods, review warnings carefully and proceed only if you are comfortable.

Question 12

What modules are modified?

Accepted Answer

Different modifications affect different modules in your truck. Common modules include: BCM (Body Control Module), IPC (Instrument Panel Cluster), ACM (Audio Control Module), APIM (Accessory Protocol Interface Module), and others. Each listing shows the module addresses included in the worksheet. You decide whether to use those rows and make any changes yourself.

Question 13

Will modifications affect my truck's performance?

Accepted Answer

Most launch worksheet topics are cosmetic, display, lighting, or convenience features. Some vehicle configuration changes can affect driving characteristics or vehicle behavior. Review each risk label and warning before deciding whether to use a worksheet row.

Question 14

Do I need special software or tools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You'll need FORScan software (free), an extended license, and a compatible OBD-II adapter. We provide setup guidance, recommended adapters, and detailed DIY instructions.

Question 15

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Start in the worksheet builder. Select your F-150 year, trim, engine, and drivetrain, then choose compatible mods and review the risk notes before purchasing the printable worksheet.

Question 16

Can I update my selected modifications later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Reopen the builder, adjust your mod list, and review compatibility again before generating or purchasing a worksheet.

Question 17

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

F-Config worksheet purchases are non-refundable digital product sales except where required by law or for limited charge/access issues described in the Refund Policy.

Question 18

Do you offer refunds?

Accepted Answer

No, worksheet purchases are generally final and non-refundable. If you have a duplicate charge, payment error, or cannot access the purchased worksheet, contact support for review.

Question 19

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and digital payment methods through our secure Stripe payment processor.

Question 20

Can I add or remove modifications later?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Update your selections in the builder and review the compatibility, risk, and warning details before using the worksheet.

Question 21

How quickly does support respond?

Accepted Answer

Support response times can vary. Include your full vehicle details, selected mods, and the exact worksheet step where you need help so the request can be reviewed efficiently.

Question 22

Are these modifications legal?

Accepted Answer

F-Config does not determine whether a change is legal for your vehicle or location. We prohibit emissions defeat, inspection bypass, safety-system disabling, anti-theft bypass, odometer/VIN fraud, pirated software, and similar misuse. You are responsible for local law, inspection, warranty, insurance, and safe-use decisions.

Question 23

Will modifications affect my insurance?

Accepted Answer

Insurance impact can vary by provider, policy, location, vehicle use, and the specific change. F-Config does not determine insurability or coverage impact. Check with your insurance provider before making any change that could matter to your policy, vehicle use, inspection status, or safety systems.

Question 24

What if a modification causes damage?

Accepted Answer

Always make your own backup before changing values. F-Config provides worksheet guidance and risk labels, but you apply changes yourself and are responsible for deciding whether a mod is appropriate for your truck.

Question 25

Can modifications affect my truck's safety systems?

Accepted Answer

F-Config does not sell worksheet content for disabling airbags, restraints, ABS, stability control, or other safety systems. Most launch worksheet topics are convenience, lighting, display, or cosmetic items, but you are still responsible for reviewing risk notes and deciding whether a change is appropriate.

Question 26

Which modifications are most popular?

Accepted Answer

Our most popular modifications include: Auto Start/Stop Disable, Bambi Mode (fog lights with high beams), Global Windows (one-touch up/down), Double Honk Disable, Autofold Mirrors, and Fake Engine Noise Disable. Check out our "Popular Mods" section on the modifications page to see what other F-150 owners are choosing.

Question 27

Can I combine multiple modifications?

Accepted Answer

You can select multiple worksheet topics, and F-Config screens for known checkout-blocking conflicts and restricted content. This is not an exhaustive compatibility guarantee, so review every selected row and stop if the worksheet does not match your truck.

Question 28

What does "risk level" mean?

Accepted Answer

We categorize worksheet topics by risk level: (1) Lower Risk - convenience or display-oriented items that still require backups and customer judgment, (2) Advanced - items requiring extra care or specific configurations, and (3) High Risk - items with higher potential consequences that require extra caution and full backups.

Question 29

Do you offer DIY guides?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The DIY worksheet is the product: it packages compatible codes, guidance, warnings, and printable steps for the mods you select.

Question 30

How do I know if a modification is compatible with my truck?

Accepted Answer

When you configure your vehicle on our site, we filter worksheet options using the year, trim, engine, drivetrain, and compatibility rules available to F-Config. Compatibility can still vary by package, module revision, production date, region, software version, and prior vehicle changes, so confirm the worksheet matches your truck before writing values.

Question 31

What if a modification doesn't work on my truck?

Accepted Answer

If a worksheet row does not behave as expected, stop making changes and restore your original values from your backups. You can contact support with your vehicle details and the exact values used so we can review the worksheet content, but final vehicle decisions and tool use remain your responsibility.

Question 32

Can I request a custom modification?

Accepted Answer

Yes. You can suggest worksheet topics you would like F-Config to research. We do not accept requests for emissions defeat, inspection bypass, safety-system disabling, anti-theft bypass, odometer/VIN fraud, pirated software, or unlawful use.
