When a Module Does Not Respond in FORScan

A missing or unresponsive module is a stop condition. The worksheet is only useful when the module, address, and current value can be read cleanly before writing.

Do this first

□Do not write values to any other module while the target module is unavailable.
□Save the error message or take a screenshot for support notes.
□Check battery voltage and connect a maintainer if the session is taking time.
□Close FORScan, unplug the adapter, wait briefly, then reconnect and let FORScan identify the truck again.

Common causes

□Adapter cannot access the needed required vehicle network.
□Ignition state is wrong for that module.
□Vehicle voltage dropped during the session.
□FORScan vehicle profile was not fully loaded.
□The truck does not have the module or feature package expected for that worksheet row.

When to abandon that row

Skip the row if the module name, address, or current value does not line up with the worksheet. Some trims, production dates, and package combinations do not expose every feature the same way. A skipped row is better than writing to the wrong address.

If you contact support, include year, trim, engine, drivetrain, selected mod, target module, address, adapter model, and the exact FORScan message.

Restart the session cleanly

After fixing the connection, restart from the top: identify the truck, read the target module, save a backup, confirm the current value, then decide whether the worksheet row still applies.
